Third Grade Personal Narratives You’ll never believe what’s happened in the lives of our third graders! After some serious brainstorming, each child developed a personal narrative about an event in his or her life. We focused on how to write a three (or more) paragraph story, with a good beginning, middle and ending. The children learned how to grab the reader’s attention with an exciting topic sentence. They added interesting details and descriptive language to make their writing more effective. Be sure to stop by the third grade bulletin boards outside the classrooms to read their outstanding personal narratives.
