Gan Dubonim Hibernates
Gan Dubonim has been learning about the season of winter. We were particularly fascinated with the concept of hibernation, the very long sleep that some animals experience in the winter.
The idea of curling up in our nice warm beds for the winter was so inviting that we simulated hibernation in our classroom. We turned our bayit into a bear den. We sponge painted our footprints all over a very large piece of paper. This foot printed paper then became the walls of our cave. Animal skins and nice warm blankets made our bear den quite cozy. On Wednesday we all came to school in our pajamas and slippers. We cuddled up with our favorite teddy bears and stuffed animals and read stories. We made some delicious hibernation treats. We baked chocolate cupcakes to look like bear caves and inside we hid a yummy hibernating gummy bear! We also drank delicious hot chocolate
We’ll see you in the spring!
