Third Graders Learn About Pangaea

Many scientists believe that long ago the Earth consisted of only one large land mass, called Pangaea.  Eventually, Pangaea began to split apart into two large land masses.  Then these two masses broke apart into what now are our seven continents.  Currently, the third graders are learning about this theory.  To enrich their understanding of the concept, each child is creating a model of how Pangaea might have looked.   We will then compare their models to the actual map.  The children can’t wait to see how close their models are to Pangaea.
