K-1's "Trip to Israel"
Rosh Chodesh is a very special day in K-1. Each Rosh Chodesh, K-1 “takes a trip” to a different city or place in Israel. We learn about where the city or place is located in Israel, what the city/place looks like, and the special attractions in that city/place. Each Rosh Chodesh, we make a mural of the city that we are learning about and it is displayed in our “Pinat Ivrit”. Each child draws a beautiful picture depicting that city. These illustrations are compiled together to create a book that is added to our “Pinat Ivrit” library.
We began “our trip” on Rosh Chodesh Cheshvan, and we learned about our sister city, Nahariya. We continued on to Haifa on Rosh Chodesh Kislev. On Rosh Chodesh Tevet we “traveled” to Tel- Aviv and continued on to the Dead Sea on Rosh Chodesh Shevat. On Rosh Chodesh Adar we “visited” Tsfat.
Each city/place is so beautiful and unique. We are so excited that Rosh Chodesh Nisan is coming! We are going to continue “our journey” to the city of Eilat
