Celebrating Pi Day at Moriah
In honor of International Pi Day, Moriah eighth grade students in Ms. Koslowe’s and Ms. Iuzzolino’s math classes united with math lovers across the world this week to celebrate the revolutionary math concept of Pi . The day was marked with different interactive events including hands-on demonstrations of the actual meaning of the concept of Pi . In one highly competitive event, two students competed for top prizes, with one of them ultimately creaming the other with a Pi .Jonah Lesnick walked away with top honors as he spellbound the class with reciting by heart the calculation of Pi as far as 175 digits. As a result of Jonah’s amazing feat, he has been accepted into the academic honor society, PI BETA KAPPA.
