Fourth Graders Learn About Lenape Indians
Our fourth graders were treated to a fantastic presentation by archeologis t John Kraft, an authority on early New Jersey history. The students experienced an interactive program depicting traditional Lenape life, customs, art and religious beliefs. Hands-on objects and artifacts were available for the children to examine. Mr. Kraft provided an exciting and humorous question and answer forum for all the students. This was a wonderful reinforcement of our class novel, Sign of the Beaver, and our Social Studies unit on the Lenni Lenape of New Jersey.
