Fifth Grade Brachot Party Last Friday, class 5-3 had a unique type of pre-Shabbat party. The fifth grade curriculum has been exploring mishnayot from Masechet Brachot, which tells us which brachot should be made on which food. Specifically, the mishna talks about fruits, vegetables, and grape juice, or wine. Morah Klavan brought in a basket with a variety of fruits and vegetables to demonstrate matching the brachot to the specific foods. After the class finished learning and memorizing the mishna, they were treated to an assortment of cut up fruit and vegetables from the basket. Everyone had a great time and the class enjoyed reciting all the brachot out loud before eating the tasty treats!
