Preparing for Parent-Teacher Conferences

This past Monday evening, our parents were privileged to hear from Dr. Alex Bailey who addressed us on how parents can maximize parent-teacher conferences through using effective and positive communication. Dr. Bailey, who has his own clinical psychology practice in Teaneck, has worked extensively with teachers, students, parents, mental health providers and administrators, serving the entire educational spectrum and children of all ages, particularly adolescents.  Dr. Bailey’s expertise is in the areas of communication and child development and he has spent his career facilitating productive parent, teacher and student communication.  One of the most important points which Dr. Bailey emphasized in his lecture was the crucial role which parents can play early in the year in proactively reaching out to their  children’s teachers and establishing a positive relationship and thereby developing a foundation of mutual trust and communication
