Hashme Created the World So Fine

It was a crisp Fall morning as K-2 boarded the bus to Flat Rock Nature Center. We were so excited to be on our first field trip of the year! At Flat Rock, we used each of our five senses to experience nature. We used our ears to listen to the sounds around us. We heard birds chirping, leaves rustling and acorns falling. There were so many things to touch; smooth leaves, soft moss growing on rocks, bumpy bark on trees and branches and prickly gumball seeds that had fallen from the trees. Each child was given a color card and was asked to use his/her sense of sight to find something of that color. We used our sense of smell on lemon mint and lavender leaves, as well as on soil. Some highlights of our trip were seeing a bullfrog, a baby snake, and trees shaped like Hebrew letters. Our five senses are truly a gift from Hashem which allows us to enjoy our world!
