The Election Race in the Age of Technology Do technology and the upcoming election mix? You better believe it..The election is in the air in the lower school technology lab for the last 2-3 weeks. Ms. Miller’s students in grades 2- 5 have created campaign posters by using the “online games” section of the Scholastic website. They are quite eye-catching! In addition the students have played various online games on the Time for Kids site where they have had the opportunity to plan their own campaign, while getting an understanding of how to spend campaigning time and money. Do they invest their time in the undecided states or not? In order to understand the Electoral College, a short podcast was shown to visually explain the Electoral College, and they played a game by clicking on various states. Finally students in the fifth grade became familiar with the major campaign issues by candidate.
