PreK-2

It started simply, one day pears were served for dessert. In Gan Parparim, Pre-k 2, we are encouraging the children to use their sensory skills to observe the attributes of different objects. Before we knew it, the children generated a comprehensive list of the attributes of the pear.

We didn’t stop there. The children then decided to compare the pear to the apples that had been served for snack earlier in the day. We then had the children do observational drawings of both the pear and the apple. Each child was invited to a special table where an apple or pears were placed on a white mat in the middle of the table. The children used their senses to draw what they saw; color and shape, texture, and size.

They certainly were able to communicate what they saw through their wonderful observational drawings. Their comments are recorded and hung up on an experience chart in our classroom. Please come and view our art gallery!
