Gildor Science Competition
On Wednesday, July 7, Moriah wrote history as ten of our eighth grade graduates, former E2K students, ran up to the stage of the Israel Academy of Arts and Sciences to claim the Third Place prize at the annual Gildor Science and Invention Competition in Jerusalem. After months of arduous planning, brainstorming, problem solving, designing and creating a “Smart System for P revention of Automobile-Train Accidents,” our talented students, led by their inspiring team of teachers and coaches, Carol Iuzzolino (Math), Anastasia Kelly (Science) and Mike Iuzzolino (Electrical Engineering) transformed a local Israeli competition into an international event. Just to have been selected as the one Jewish school to represent the diaspora in trying out for the competition would have been a great honor in itself; and just to have been judged worthy of making it into the final 10 would have been an even greater honor. But to have gone all the way AND won third place…. that is the icing on the cake. Yishar Koach to: Eitan Neugat, Sarah Samuels, Jesse Silverman, Leora Margelovich, Elliot Eisenberg, Rachel Rolnick, Max Shulman, Hannah Lebovics, Kevin Wolf and Ariana Shanzer and to their dedicated teachers!
